Event Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk:

I desire to participate in the Farmer U & Trade Show (the “Activity”) sponsored by High Plains Journal, Farmer U partners, sponsors, exhibitors, the Kansas Star Event Center (collectively the “Companies”). As lawful consideration for being permitted by the Companies to participate in the Activity, I agree to all the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement (this “Agreement”).

I am aware and understand that some of the activities may be dangerous activities and involve the risk of serious illness and/or injury and/or death and/or property damage. I acknowledge that any injuries that I sustain may be compounded by negligent emergency response or rescue operations of the companies or the acts of other third parties, including other sponsors or exhibitors at the activity. I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in the activities with knowledge of the danger involved and hereby agree to accept and assume any and all risks of injury, death, or property damage, whether caused by the negligence of the companies or others.

I hereby expressly waive and release any and all claims, now known or hereafter known in any jurisdiction, against the Companies, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, shareholders, successors, and assigns (collectively, “Releasees”), on account of injury, death, or property damage arising out of or attributable to my participation in the Activities, whether arising out of the negligence of the Companies or any Releasees or otherwise. I covenant not to make or bring any such claim against the Companies or any other Releasee, and forever release and discharge the Companies and all other Releasees from liability under such claims. I hereby expressly agree to sign any additional waivers that other sponsors of or exhibitors at the Activity may request of me.

I agree to follow any applicable Kansas state plan or guidance in effect, as well as Mulvane and Sedgwick and Sumner counties County COVID-19 recommendations including but not limited to: social distancing in public settings – maintaining a 6 foot distance from others and avoiding large group settings where appropriate distancing is not present; wearing a mask when in public and unable to socially distance; practicing good hygiene; and staying home and avoiding others when sick or if COVID-19 symptoms are present.

Video/Photograph Release Agreement:

By registering for and attending the Farmer U & Trade Show, I hereby grant High Plains Journal (the “Company”) the irrevocable right and permission to use photographs and/or video recordings of me on Company and and other affiliated websites and in publications, promotional flyers, educational materials, derivative works, or for any other similar purpose without compensation to me.

I understand and agree that such photographs and/or video recordings of me may be placed on the Internet. I also understand and agree that I may be identified by name and/or title in printed, Internet or broadcast information that might accompany the photographs and/or video recordings of me. I waive the right to approve the final product. I agree that all such portraits, pictures, photographs, video and audio recordings, and any reproductions thereof, and all plates, negatives, recording tape and digital files are and shall remain the property of the Company.

I hereby release, acquit and forever discharge the Company, its current and former affiliated brands, trustees, agents, officers and employees of the above-named entities from any and all claims, demands, rights, promises, damages and liabilities arising out of or in connection with the use or distribution of said photographs and/or video recordings, including but not limited to any claims for invasion of privacy, appropriation of likeness or defamation.

I hereby warrant that I am eighteen (18) years old or more and competent to contract in my own name. This release is binding on me and my heirs, assigns and personal representatives.

By accepting these terms, I acknowledge that I have read and understood all of the terms of this agreement and that I am voluntarily giving up substantial legal rights, including the right to sue the companies.
